What’s the most fun way to exercise?
Whatever feels right in the moment. I have grown to love moving my body. Dancing, lifting weights, yoga, or trying a sport like basketball are all fun. The important thing to me is just doing what feels good. If I’m feeling energized, let that out on the gym floor by pushing some weights or running on the treadmill. If my muscles are feeling crazy or in need of love, stretching. I bought a basketball a couple of years ago and I keep it in my car, in case I come across a random hoop lol. Always wanna be ready to have fun. I also own a skateboard because I wanted to find a way to get outdoors and exercise; plus it just seems like a cool thing to do. I totally wasn’t thinking about the possibility of getting hurt, and I have fallen off of it already. I still want to learn how to skate properly though.
I also want a bike, a volleyball, and roller skates and blades. I want to continue to add to my list of ways to exercise, because moving is fun. It’s also been amazing for my mental health. Moving is cathartic. Going to the gym is like therapy. I think because I didn’t get to play outside as a kid, or do sports til I got older, I’m trying to make up for lost time too. It feels backwards from what most people I know go through, and I’m grateful because now I’m more fit than ever and I have a healthy mindset around working out.
