I recently answered these questions for my artist profile on Apple Music, and I wanted to share them here. It feels grounding to reflect on my artistic career, past present and future, especially after I’ve been focused on other projects.
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
When I was old enough to remember anything, I recall being at high school band practices. My older siblings were in marching band, one of the best in the state. I could never forget the music of several hundred students reverberating through my body.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why?

I Care 4 U
Aaliyah

ASTROWORLD
Travis Scott

Love Sick (Deluxe)
Don Toliver
Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
These 3 records are favorites because I return to them over and over through the years. I’ll always search them up when I need to. A certain song will come to mind and I’ll play the album from there. They age like fine wine, getting better with time.
I have all these albums on vinyl btw, and the Aaliyah record on CD and vinyl. My love is real
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special.

Sublime
Zen Desire
Tell us why you chose this song.
I love this song because it exists outside any realms of expectation. Yet it remains a beautiful embodiment of my feelings and thoughts about love, and it also allows the listener to experience vulnerability – mine or theirs.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
The day I released Good Coffee was unforgettable. It was like a portal opened in the universe, an abundance of goodness pouring into my life. So many beautiful calls and messages from people I love and care about. The entire day was lovely.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
I want to make a record so beautiful that it’s acknowledged by the industry and by culture. A record that impacts through its ability to reach, its artistic vision, that’s reflected by its sales and streams. In short, I want to make a classic record.
