There’s the link. Watch that junt.
I love it!!! It’s not too visually stimulating but still creative and engaging. I think it places the focus on his bars. The fit is fresh but not distracting. I think he PTSO, with a splash of “what is he wearing??” to keep it interesting. I love all the nuances that go into these things. Yachty done glowed up again.
Why I love Lil Boat
Soooo I am slick a real Yachty fan!!! It happened to me last year. I was at da function (a local music event) and the DJ turned this song on I’d never heard before, and it was like a wave of people all started dancing around me at once. Like it was planned in advance, a whole movement. I was like whooaaa what is happening here?? It was pure fun. Everybody just vibing. The song was Strike (Holster) by Lil Yachty. Then it happened again when I played it at a friend’s house. They immediately started dancing- what is it with this song?
I love this song, so much that I covered it, an effective endeavor. For some reason I just get it- I was tryna strike s*** like a match late night, yuh. It reminds me of staying up late at night tryna hit pay dirt, trying to strike gold, trying to get lucky, trying to write that hit song, or make that business go, or whatever it is you’re grinding towards. And the song is clearly a win, if you ask me. It’s a celebration! IT’S US!
Yachty’s experimental album that dropped last year didn’t seem to hit for everybody.. I get it. I wasn’t immediately a fan of his album Nuthin 2 Prove… but I love the album art. It’s fresh ah.

To me, Lil Yachty embodies boundless creative energy.
Boat be WORKING
I also have to respect the fact that dude has been at it for years. I just found this out for the first time-
- he dropped out of college in the fall of 2015,
- was workin at McDonalds, got a song to go viral in December 2015,
- modeled for Kanye West’s fashion line in February 2016,
- released his debut mixtape in March of 2016,
- and featured on Dram’s “Broccoli” which dropped in May 2016- the first time I met his artistry. That song was everywhere. It’s at almost half a billion views on YouTube. This is a crazy timeline. Now at age 26, he’s released 5 albums, all while doing TV and film. Plus features and touring. That’s hard work.

“I’ll die for my respect”- Boat
My impression is that folks don’t take Yachty seriously, or respect his artistry. It reminds me of Tyler, the Creator when he said oh snap, people don’t know me for the music- they know me for the stunts and crazy stuff I do. So Tyler locked in and got serious about his music creation, eventually taking home his first (and second) grammy and growing from that roach-eating kid into a globally respected musician. I see Lil Yachty going through a similar growth and evolution- but in his own style. His latest song, A COLD SUNDAY feels nostalgic and new at the same time. It’s two unexpected worlds merging- a soulful sample and his playful, “bubblegum trap” bars perfectly blended for a pick-me-up whenever you need it. And that’s what I love about Yachty- his music and persona makes me smile. Keep going bro, we’re rooting for you 💗
